About BOSSE
The Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim, was established under an Act of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly (Act No. 14 of 2020) and duly recognized by the Government of Sikkim. BOSSE is a state-level open schooling board that provides flexible, inclusive, and skill-integrated education to learners across India.
BOSSE is designed as an alternative education system to support school dropouts, working professionals, underprivileged learners, and anyone seeking a second chance to complete their schooling. It offers Secondary (Class 10), Senior Secondary (Class 12), and Skill & Vocational Education programs, empowering learners with both academic qualifications and employable skills.

BOSSE’s Secondary Programme is equivalent to Class 10 (X). It’s designed for flexible, open schooling so learners can complete Class 10 with subject choice and supportive evaluation.
Eligibility
- Minimum age: 15 years (age must be attained before the exam / Block cut-off).
- Applicants must provide valid proof of age; applicants should be able to read the study material and write the examination.

Curriculum

The Senior Secondary Programme from BOSSE is equivalent to the Class 12 (XII) standard. Candidates who have passed the Secondary (Class X) level are eligible to apply, and must submit a self-attested copy of their Secondary Certificate. There’s no restriction on the choice of subjects—except that students must select at least one language. Subjects are chosen from the official BOSSE Senior Secondary list.
